Andrit Dien, a student in the Information and Communication Technology Education (PTIK) program, collaborated with Fresya, an English Education student. Both demonstrated strong argumentation skills, analytical abilities, and solid teamwork throughout the competition.
AuNovice is an event specifically designed to provide a platform for novice debaters to hone their critical thinking and argumentative communication skills. The competition was participated in by various teams from universities across Indonesia, resulting in intense competition from the preliminary rounds all the way to the finals.
Throughout the competition, the LIKEY team successfully advanced through various rounds with consistent performance. They were able to present their arguments systematically and logically, while also demonstrating strong rebuttal skills against their opponents. This was one of the key factors that propelled them to the finals and secured them second place.
Andrit noted that this achievement was the result of intensive practice and strong teamwork. He also emphasized the importance of having the courage to try and keep learning, especially for students new to the world of debate.
Fresya added that participating in AuNovice not only yielded achievements but also broadened their horizons and boosted their confidence in presenting ideas in public forums.
It is hoped that the LIKEY team’s success will inspire other students to continue developing their potential, particularly in the fields of debate and critical communication. Furthermore, this achievement serves as proof that students from various academic disciplines are capable of competing and excelling at the national level.
